As expected, Donald Trump’s team is not taking responsibility for Melania Trump blatantly plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s 2008 speech during the Republican National Convention last night.
Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort, calls the accusations “absurd” and blames Hillary Clinton, saying that she’s just trying to “demean [Melania] and take her down.” He adds that the words used were common words and values.

Sam Clovis, the Trump campaign’s co-chairman, at least took a little more responsibility. He said:
“I’m sure what happened is the person who was helping write this plugged something in there — probably an unfortunate oversight, and certainly Melania didn’t have anything to do with it. … I’m sure action will be taken inside the campaign to make sure it never happens again.”
