The Michigan Wolverines home opener on September 3rd against Hawaii just got a bit more interesting. The game itself will likely not be too competitive, as Michigan is expected to run through their schedule this year until their meeting with Ohio State in November but it was announced yesterday that Michael Jordan will be captaining the Wolverines that day and that alone is worth watching.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said on the Rich Eisen Show Friday that Jordan would serve as an honorary captain for the Wolverines’ Sept. 3 game against Hawaii.
The move stems from Michigan becoming the first football program in the nation to be sponsored by Jordan Brand. The schools current deal with Adidas end at the end of July and as of August 1st they are officially a Nike school again but more specifically, Jordan brand.
