Rich Homie Quan screwing up (aka completely forgetting) Biggie’s lyrics at Hip-Hop Honors on Monday night was the flub heard ’round the world. Naturally, everyone has something to say about it, because as a hip-hop artist, there’s no reason you shouldn’t know “Get Money” word for word – no matter where you’re from! Not only that, but it’s not like you were called out of your seat and asked to perform it out of the blue. How could you be so unprepared to honor such a legend at a LIVE show?

While some close to the situation are surprisingly cool with it (Lil Kim, Faith Evans, Lil Cease,) others like Joey Bada$$ aren’t here for it. For Quan’s part, he’s sincerely apologized and first said nerves got the best of him, then elaborated further in an interview this morning to blame it on the teleprompter, as well as the fact that as an Atlanta native, he grew up on Outkast and not Biggie.
