The LAPD has now decided to double up on security following the recent Dallas shootings. They are concerned that people will try to mimic the tragedy and they want to be well prepared. The LAPD officers will carry extra weapons just in case.
Officers are being told to carry ballistic helmets, vests and other protective gear. They should be able to reach the gear instantly. They are also being told not to make it known that they work for law enforcement while they are off duty.
