Officials responded to a fire at a predominately black church in St. Louis. There is currently an investigation being held by the St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit after the church alarm went off at around 2am Tuesday morning.
Sources say the back door had been kicked open and racist graffiti writing had been found inside of the church. The writing said,
“Children of Israel negroes are the Isralites [sic] wake [up].”
Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church pastor Titus D. Irving is very hurt by this whole thing but he says he will trust God to fix this.
“I know the Lord will see us through this, but it tears your heart apart.”
He says he does not thing the intentions were racially motivated.
I just believe that it’s hatred against the church at large
The total estimated number in damages is $200,000.
