The nation is reacting to the death of Alton Sterling, a black man who was pinned to the ground by two police officers and then shot at point blank range.  The horrific scene was caught on tape.  Police killing African-Americans has been a major topic and spark for outrage, launching protests and the #BlackLivesMatter movement.  As the bodies continue to pile up, people are no longer remaining silent.  Colin Kaepernick decided he would not stay silent either.  The San Francisco 49ers quarterback called the shooting the modern day version of lynching.

This is what lynchings look like in 2016! Another murder in the streets because the color of a man’s skin, at the hands of the people who they say will protect us. When will they be held accountable? or did he fear for his life as he executed this man?
