The list of players getting paid serious money will continue to grow over the next few days but DeMar DeRozan can careless about that because he already got his money. In an unsurprising move, the Raptors star decided to stay north of the border and re-up with Toronto for $139 million dollars!
@IamJoeSports
The deal is for five years and Shams Charania of The Vertical confirmed the details, which will pay DeRozan about $28 million dollars per season. The deal can’t be signed until July 7th but there will be no DeAndre Jordan flip-flop episodes like last year. DeRozan is in Toronto to stay.
DeRozan is coming off his best season in the NBA, where he averaged 23.5ppg and was an all-star. He was also just named to the Olympic team for Brazil. The Raptors really had no choice but to open up the bank because they aren’t going to get any marquee free agents but it does seem they are happy to pay him.
