A man is now threatening to sue rapper Birdman over ‘Respek’ gear. The man who goes by the name ‘JV’ says back in 2005 he started a clothing company and got a trademark for the name ‘Respek.’ After Birdman’s famous ‘Respek on my name line,’ JV claims the rapper has been making thousands of dollars off of the word which isnt his.
In a letter, JV tells Birdman he will sue him. JV’s lawyer doesnt ask Birdman to stop selling the clothing, instead says ‘call me.’ Maybe they are willing to work out a deal of some sort. JV even has a website called ThisRespekwear.com which has been up for years.
