President Obama made a congratulatory phone call to Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue yesterday and took the opportunity to have fun with a few of the players. The fact that J.R. Smith hasn’t had a shirt on in almost a week, definitely caught the eye of the POTUS, as well as players like Iman Shumpert and Kyrie Irving. He made sure to tell coach it’s time they put their shirts back on but then he gave them a break because he wished he looked as good with no shirt on himself.

Okay this @Cavs video of President Obama telling Ty Lue that JR Smith needs to put his shirt back on is AMAZING. pic.twitter.com/ApCc3wwrY7

No president has been more involved in sports than Obama and he is definitely going to be missed when he leaves office. Teams, players and coaches always seem to get truly excited when they hear from him. I just can’t fathom many athletes being excited in the future to hear from Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.
