Prior to the video hitting social media but after his arrest, Banner had taken to social media to speak out against the venue:
“Club Ozio in #WashingtonDC I hope that you treat the people of the city better than what I experienced last night. If not #shutitdown. If we spend our money with you then treat our people right. I hope to represent my people with grace, style and respect. “But” I’m a grown Man. There is a point where I must protect “My” honor first. What happen to me is not important. It is my feeling though that it may be common practice. If so, that is the bigger problem. If not [wind emoji]”
After the video made its rounds on the web today, however, Banner had additional things to add:
“Black media don’t copy and paste. White media throws you scraps and it’s your duty to give Black people the truth. Clicks or truth? Especially when it is incorrect information. Do you care about the truth? Think about it before you report. Are you really Hiphop? Or pawns.”
