A woman by the name of Patience Carter was one of the survivors in the Pulse night club shooting. She says that while she was in the bathroom, Omar Mateen asked if any of the people in there were African Americans. She was too afraid to speak. The man said that he did not want them to think this shooting was about African Americans because it wasn’t. He said they had already been through.
Carter says Mateen spoke directly to them inside of the bathroom. She said another African American spoke up for the 6-7 of them that were in the bathroom. According to Carter, there were about 3 explosive shots that went off before the police came in and rescued them from the bathroom that they were in.
