Putting past controversy aside, Jim Jones believes he had the first Drake in his hands way before anyone in 2006.

Jones signed the now incarcerated wave god, Max B, to his ByrdGang label in 2006:
“I put a lot of money into that boy pocket,” Jim says in an interview with Rap Radar. “He had a chance to do, be as big as Drake right now. A lot of these artists right now that are singing and being very melodic, a lot of that came from that boy’s whole catalogue. Wiz Khalifa will tell you right now that he studied his music word-for-word and took a lot of his wave. We all make our decisions. It’s just sad sometimes.”
Max was sentenced to 75 years in prison, after being found guilty of murder conspiracy & robbery in 2009 and will be eligible for parole in 2042. Check out the full interview below:
