XXL has finally revealed their class of 2016 – and I don’t think anyone will be too surprised with the choices.

The 9th annual issue features the traditional 10 picks, and they include Harlem‘s Dave East, California’s Anderson .Paak, Atlanta’s 21 Savage, Pompano Beach, Florida’s Kodak Black; Philly’s Lil Uzi Vert, PA’s Lil Dicky, Carol City, Florida’s Denzel Curry, Brooklyn’s Desiigner, Chicago’s G Herbo and Atlanta‘s Lil Yachty – who was voted in by fans. Go Lil Boat!

The issue will hit newsstands on June 28, and will coincide with the Freshman show at PlayStation Theater in NYC that night. Tickets available here now. The LA show will be July 25, with more cities to be announced.

Who do you feel is missing? As previously reported, Tory Lanez is rumored to have turned down a spot, and I suspect that Bryson Tiller and Kehlani may have done the same, considering how far along each of them are. Plus, Bryson is technically not qualified, as he’s already released a studio album. (Although August Alsina had already done so by the time his cover was released as well, but whatever…) Personally, I’m surprised that PnB Rock and NEF The Pharaoh didn’t make it, but I can see 2017 being a better fit for them.
