Titi Pierce is suing Ellen DeGeneres for making a joke out of her name. In a segment called “What’s Wrong with These Signs?,” Ellen pronounced the woman’s name, who btw is a real estate agent, as “titty.” Her name is really pronounced ‘tee-tee.’
Pierce is suing for defamation and invasion of privacy. She says she was on her way to a funeral when the segment was aired. People started to call her phone and joke about it. She says,
“The name-calling led to immediate ridicule and raucous laughter from the show’s live and television audiences.”
Pierce stated she was humiliated by the joke. If you ask me, she’s taking it a little too far but hey.
