The teen was swimming in Neptune Beach at around 3:45 p.m. when the shark bit him on his right calf. The injuries reported are non-life threatening and the boy was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital to treat his severe lacerations.
Neptune Beach Police are saying based on the bite mark pattern, they believe the shark to be about 5-6 feet long. There was also a large group of people in the water when the shark attacked.
