One South Carolina beauty queen was arrested on forgery charges for faking doctors notes to skip school. Police stated that 17-year-old Madison Cox was arrested on Monday. Cox was crowned Miss Spartanburg International before being crowned Miss South Carolina Teen International. Read the rest if this story after the jump.

According to police Madison Cox, who attends Byrnes High School, wrote herself multiple doctor’s notes to excuse herself from school using a pad from Parris Family Chiropractic located near Spartanburg. Police said that Cox didn’t visit the Parris Family Chiropractic on the dates that were on her doctor’s notes. Some days the office wasn’t even open.

Cox made comments about her arrest this week and tweeted

“Did they really just put me on the news BC I went to jail for a DOCTORS NOTE???”

That tweet was deleted soon after it was posted.

Madison Cox said in a tweet that the forgery charges against her had been dropped.
