Fetty Wap recently headed back to his Paterson, New Jersey high school, and shot the video to his new single, “Wake Up.”
“This song is for everyone that celebrates 4/20 all year but still passes that math test,” Fetty tweeted when the song dropped last month. “This song is for everyone that might not be in the top of their class or most popular but you still know where you’re headed, just riding on your own path.”

In an Instagram post, he shared a photo of himself in a classroom on set, holding a plaque for his various platinum singles. He wrote:
“This was one of them moments where I was hoping to see one of my old teachers and give them a lil knowledge [sunglasses emoji]”
