Before Odell Beckham Jr became the superstar that he now is in such a short period of time, former Jets coach and Current Bills coach, Rex Ryan, claims he tried to trade for him to get on the Jets. Clearly his effort didn’t work out but could you imagine if it did? How would the Jets look? How would the Giants look? Would Odell even be a star? Ryan revealed about the “almost” trade while talking about his own star receiver on the Bills, Sammy Watkins.

Watkins currently has a hamstring injury, the same thing that had Odell sidelined for the first four games of his career.
“Has (Watkins) missed a little time? Yeah. Big deal. He and everyone else,” Ryan told Sports Illustrated. “The Beckham kid came out the same year, and he missed how many games with a hamstring issue? Believe me, I was trying to trade for him (with the Jets) when he had the hamstring. I was reading the papers, and I was like, ‘Well, hell, we’ll take him.’”
To be clear, Rex is saying he tried to trade for Odell before he did anything in the NFL. The Giants likely laughed at any trade request for a player they had just drafted in the first round but Rex would definitely the the type of guy to at least try.
