Another day, another Floyd Mayweather & Conor McGregor rumor, although this news seems to be more than just a rumor. TMZ is reporting that Floyd has made an offer to McGregor of $50 million to fight on New Years Eve. On the surface that sounds like a huge payday for McGregor because he has never seen that type of money for one fight but there is likely no way that Dana White would sign off on that deal.

According to reports, it’s not that White would be against the fight itself, he would just want much more money for McGregor. Floyd obviously would take home the lions share if these two ever throw down but McGregor has a huge fan base himself, with many of those fans living outside the U.S. in Europe, Asia, Australia and Canada. Those fans still buy pay-per-views and that is likely where White would demand more money IF this fight happens.
It actually makes quite a bit of sense because this fight would bring an insane amount of money, likely more than the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight brought in, and McGregor & White would want their fair share, although there is no scenario where he would ever get an even split with Floyd.
Apparently Floyd made the offer directly to McGregor himself but that won’t work. He needs to get Dana White more involved and then things could really get rolling.
