A postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas, Dallas, by the name of Sara Festin, and also her adviser, Denise Park, conducted a study on people between the ages of 50 and 89. They filled out a questionnaire about their business.
Park says,
“These are self-report data. People who tend to report chronic busyness tend to report it as a stress. Like ‘Oh God, I’m just so busy.’ If you’re chronically busy and dumping stress hormones into your body, that could be bad for your cognition.”
They noticed that the busier the individual the higher their scores got. The people who have a jam-packed schedule have a better mind and can stay active longer. So word to the wise, STAY BUSY.
