Back in January, Kehlani revealed that she was dating Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving. Then in March, they both removed all the pictures they had together off their Instagram accounts. That’s the new age tell tale sign that a relationship is over. Things got really bad just a few days later when PartyNextDoor, Kehlani’s ex-boyfriend, posted a picture on his Instagram account of him in bed holding a woman’s hand that was obviously Kehlani because of her identifiable hand tattoos. He also captioned the picture “After all her shenanigans, still got the r&b singer back in my bed.” The Internet exploded with talks that Kehlani was cheating on Irving and got back with PND.
Kehlani later revealed that she attempted suicide and PartyNextDoor was there to help her through it, posting a picture of him beside her hospital bed and captioning it, “thank you for saving my life.” Opening up about the situation, Kehlani said she was “utterly in love with her first love (PND)”, and after a bad breakup with him, she eased into a relationship with Irving, whom she described as one of her best friends. She says she & Irving were broken up when that infamous picture was taken. Kyrie confirmed they broke up, addressing the situation himself in a set of tweets saying, “Me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out… Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family.”
Fans however ran with the initial story that Kehlani cheated. During her set at a music festival in Texas, fans shouted out “She cheated on Kyrie.” Then commenced a “Kyrie” chant.
This might be a little difficult for the fragile singer who recently opened up about suicide, giving a motivational speech.
