George Zimmerman had announced he had plans on auctioning off the gun that he used to kill unarmed Trayvon Martin back in February of 2012. The auction was suppose to start at 11 a.m with the bidding starting at $5,000. The gun was a Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun. This is super sad. The fact that this man is using the murder he got away with as a marketing tool truly makes me angry.
Update
George Zimmerman is truly a monster and the American people are the ones to blame. Zimmerman recently auctioned off the gun he used to kill Trayvon Martin with on a website. The site took down the action but we now we see he has re-auctioned it.
Zimmerman resisted the gun on unitedgungroup.com. The bidding stayed the same as the last bid $5,000. unitedgungroup.com’s stance on the gun is long as it isn’t illegal they have no objection. They said it “comes down to a moral decision for George to do what he wants with his property.”

Original Story
Zimmerman claims he was using the action as a way to push back advocates for wanting stronger gun control in particular Hillary Clinton. He says,
“She made comments that I should not have had a gun, which, legally, nothing stopped me or stops me currently from owning or possessing a firearm.”
Zimmerman then went on to reference a comment Clinton made at Al Sharpton’s National Action Network in which she said,
“the man who killed Trayvon Martin should have never had a gun in the first place.”
He says he does not care what people think of the auction.
“They’re not going to be bidding on it so I couldn’t care less about them…This isn’t going to influence the radicals.”
Zimmerman states his plans for the gun. He says the gun is considered, “a piece of American History”
Otherwise, it’s going in a safe for my grandkids, never to be used or seen again.”
The Trayvon Martin Foundation has released a statement through the families lawyer. Trayvon’s father says,
The Trayvon Martin Foundation is committed to its mission of ending senseless gun violence in the United States. We are laser focused on furthering that mission. As such, the foundation has no comment on the actions of that person that murdered Trayvon. Please visit us at www.trayvonmartinfoundation.org to find out more about the work we are doing and how you can help.”
The website ‘gun broker’ has officially taken the auction down as it should have been.
