Officials in charge of battling the Canada wildfire that has beyond spiraled out of control have a new fear today. Officials fear that the wildfire may double in size! The fire already has proven to be one that will be remembered in history. The fire already has forced the evacuation of over 80,000 from the Fort McMurray region. More on this story after the jump.
The wildfire which has destroyed much of Canada’s oil sand region does not seem to be slowing down in any way. Already causing the evacuation of over 80,000 people the fire is more than the Canadian fire department can handle. But as if things could not get any worse, Canada officials are now saying that their is a possibility that the wildfire in Canada may double in size as soon as by the end of today. When dusk settles from this tragedy it surely will reveal a hefty price tag. Over 1,600 homes and counting have been destroyed already. The wildfire also has disrupted the oil industry of the nation as well. The fire is as large as 250,000 acres or about 390 square miles. Due to the mass evacuation a whopping fourth of Canada’s oil output was halted. Hopefully the fire will calm sooner than later. The region is the third largest reserve of oil in the world behind Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
