Well enough of the speculation it’s officially happening; LeBron James will star in “Space Jam 2”!
There’s been rumors swirling for a while now, especially with LeBron James doing minor acting roles and his SpringHill Entertainment company recently partnering with Warner Bros. Now according to Variety producers of the long-awaited sequel to the partially-animated classic are already in talks with Justin Lin – of “Fast and Furious 6” fame – to direct the film.
The original “Space Jam” shot to #1 when it opened back in 1996 and went on to become one of the highest grossing basketball movies ever, making $230 million worldwide.
It originally starred Michael Jordan and with MJ and LeBron being so closely compared to each other, many assumed that James will naturally take the role in the sequel.
There’s no word yet on when the movie will hit theaters as it’s clearly in the early stages.
