Drake is the Global Ambassador for the Toronto Raptors but he likes to drop the names of other players in his songs like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. Back in 2014, he tried to recruit Durant to the Raptors during one of his concerts and it cost the team a $25,000 fine for violating the NBA’s anti-tampering policy. As Durant’s free agency is even closer with him being an unrestricted free agent this summer, Drake dropped Durant’s name again, this time on his song “Weston Road Flows” off his album VIEWS.
The lines from the song are:
“A lot of people just hit me up when my name is mentioned,Shout out to KD we relate we get the same attention.
It’s rainin’ money, Oklahoma City Thunder, The most successful rapper 35 and under.”
