It was starting to seem like the only person Phil Jackson was going to offer the head coaching job to was interim (and lousy) coach, Kurt Rambis. According to reports however, Jackson may still be keeping his options open as he met with former Cavs coach, David Blatt, earlier this week.

People like Tom Thibodeau and Mark Jackson were interested in the job but Phil didn’t really give either of them the time of day. He seemed to be fixated on Rambis because he knows he will be his puppet and do things the way he wants, rather than deal with someone who wants more control or to do things their own way.
Now comes word Jackson met with Blatt this Monday. Blatt guided the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals last season before his abrupt firing in January with the Cavs leading the East at 30-11. No coach in league history had been dismissed in-season with a higher winning percentage than Blatt’s .732. He also did have a guy named Lebron James on his team but nonetheless, Blatt did a solid job and should deserve the Knicks job over Rambis.
