The drama and confusion continues. Earlier today Conor McGregor said he worked things out with UFC president Dana White and he is back on the card to headline UFC 200. Well wires must be crossed because White says that’s not true.
TMZ Sports spoke to White this morning … who says, “It’s not true. We haven’t talked to Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don’t know why he would tweet that.”
He adds, “All the media keeps asking me that. I feel like the scene in ‘Step Brothers’ when they ask if they can build the bunk beds. I don’t know how many more times I can say the fight is off or how many more press conferences I can have saying the fight is off for people to believe it’s off.”
White previously said he extended every opportunity for McGregor to attend the mandatory promotional events including offering to fly Conor and his equipment in but he did not show up. White says they’ve been accused of bending the rules too much for McGregor and they have but enough is enough and he is off the fight card. Apparently he’s sticking to his guns on this one despite the loss of the big name for the milestone event.
