You are now about to witness the strength of street knowledge… As we all should know, an NWA reunion can’t be complete without the doctor. Ice Cube brings out Dr. Dre to complete the NWA reunion at his second Coachella set. And it is epic!
Ice Cube had a pretty dope set at Coachella not to long ago. Aside from performing his barrage of solo hits, he brought out Snoop Dogg and Common to the stage (that’s pretty awesome since there’s been some bad blood/awkward relationships between Ice Cube and these two, individually, in the past).
Last night’s set however features some of the old and some of the new. He brought out Compton’s own Kendrick Lamar, who took his platform to perform “Alright” with Cube.
Afterwards, NWA members MC Ren and DJ Yella took the stage to perform “Straight Outta Compton”. Although awesome, one question was still lingering in people’s minds… Where’s Dre? When is he gonna kick in the bass? Soon after Cube says,
“Now, we missing somebody, if you know what I mean. Is there a Doctor in the mothafucking house?”
Sure enough, Dre comes out and the four legends assemble like The Avengers while Ice Cube says
“This the picture for ya’ll to see”
Oddly enough though, they all didn’t perform an NWA song. Dre just performed “Still Dre” and “California Love”. Still though, beggars cant be choosers. The fact that they were all on stage for the first time in a long time, is as good as it gets.
