Since the sudden passing of seven time Grammy award winning vocalist, Prince, many people have sported the color purple to pay homage to the late singer. At the New York City Prince Street subway station in Brooklyn, there is a purple “P” and symbol plastered besides the “N” and “R” train symbols. Prince not only influenced music, and his fans, but he has now influenced local transportation as well. The MTA was not the only company to remember Prince’s legacy. Like the MTA, the Empire State building payed homage to the late singer in a similar fashion. After his passing on Thursday, April 23rd, the Empire State building lit the New York City skyline purple in memory of the late singer as well.

Earlier today, an autopsy was completed on Prince’s body according to Fox News. Fox news reported the following information:

“The autopsy began at 9 a.m. CDT and was completed by Dr. A. Quinn Strobl at 1:00 p.m. local time,” the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said in a press release obtained by FOX411. “The body will be released to family later today.”

“The office stated results would not be made public until all exams are “complete and all results are obtained. Gathering the results will take several days and the results of a full toxicology scan could likely take weeks.”

While America waits the results from the autopsy, a number of New Yorkers are painting the city purple to remember prince.
