With news breaking yesterday of Prince passing away, everyone wanted to show their love and respect for him and that definitely included numerous people from the world of sports. Everyone from Michael Jordan to Magic Johnson to entire teams wanted to show their condolences and share stories about the icon himself.

Alot of athletes were either friends with Prince or were raised on his music thanks to their parents so it’s no surprise his passing affecting so many people.
Michael Jordan told TMZ after news of Prince’s passing that “Like so many people I am shocked at the news that Prince has died. In a world of creative performers, Prince was a genius.”
“His impact not just on music, but on culture, truly can’t be measured His songs inspired me throughout my career and remind me of so many moments from my life.”
“His greatness will live on through his music, but this is a sad day for his fans – me included. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.”
Magic Johnson chimed in by saying “I am so devastated by the passing of my good friend Prince,” Johnson tweeted.
“This is so tragic. First MJ and now Prince! Two icons gone too soon!”
“Prince and Michael were the only artists I actually followed around the world to see their stellar performances live.”
