With his trash talk and boastful declarations about running UFC, it appeared that Conor McGregor would be around for quite some time, then two things happened. 1. He suffered a shocking defeat to Nate Diaz 2. Joao Carvalho died from injuries suffered during a fight earlier this month that was attended by McGregor. A rematch between McGregor and Diaz is set for UFC 200 on July 9, but McGregor posted a shocking tweet that has everybody confused.
The former MMA champion tweeted that he decided to retire young and implied that he was done.

McGregor, who was ringside at Carvalho’s fight in Dublin, Ireland, posted a message last week to his Facebook account, writing “To see a young man doing what he loves, competing for a chance at a better life, and then to have it taken away is truly heartbreaking.”
Did witnessing that deeply affect him and lead to his decision? Is he calling off the UFC 200 fight? Or is he planning for that to be his last fight?
So many questions; we’ll have to wait for answers.
