‘Narcos’ executive producer, José Padilha, has just caught yet another big deal. Not only did Netflix choose to renew the series ‘Narcos,’ but they also want to work with Padilha on starting a new series centralizing around the real-life corruption scandal currently being investigated in Brazil, Operation Car Wash.
Padilha states,
“This project will follow the judicial investigators in their journey to unveil the largest corruption scheme that Brazil has ever witnessed. It was fundamental for the series to be produced in an impartial way, and I have no doubt that Netflix is the best partner for the project.”
Erik Barmack, who is, Netflix’s VP of International Original Content says,
“Netflix recognizes José Padilha’s talent in turning fast-moving current events into compelling narratives and he is well placed to document this important time in Brazilian history.”
They are looking to begin filming this year sometime.
