Lebron James respects the Warriors after having faced them for the championship last year and coming up just short. While he is personally likely begging for a rematch against them, the fan part of him actually wants to see them break the 95-96 Bulls record of 72 wins.

“Records are meant to be broken,” James said Saturday, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “You have rushing records that are broken. You have home run records that are broken. You have 100-yard dash (times) that are broken.”

The Warriors need to win their final three regular-season contests against two opponents – the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs.

“You actually praise it even more,” James said. “You look back at it like, ‘Wow, they really did that?’ So having Golden State in a position where if they win three in a row they can break that record, I think it’s pretty cool.”

The Warriors are going for it all, opting not to value rest and wanting to make history. You certainly can’t blame them for it but if they fall short on a quest for back to back championships literally nobody will care how many games they won during the season. Maybe Bron wants to see them go for the record with the hopes it will equal tired legs for them in the post season.
