Chicago teachers are on a one day strike to protest cut funds. Teachers are furious saying there is a lot of things wrong with the way the school system is operating.
One teacher says,
“There’s not enough textbooks. There’s not enough technology that’s up to date and that’s working.”
In 2012, the teachers went on strike which caused schools to be closed for a week before an agreement was reached. The contract expired in June. Tiffany Stockade, who’s children attend Chicago Public Schools says,
“This is what the teachers have to do and I think the parents — whether it’s hard, whether it’s easy — they should support this. If they have to be out longer, so be it.”
