A photographer by the name of Eric Johnson is going after a t-shirt company for adding a twist on a Aaliyah photo he took. Johnson had taken a photo of Aaliyah in 2001, before she died. The company, Rocksmith, used the photo without Johnson’s permission.
Johnson is upset because he has his own line of t-shirts that feature Aaliyah and other artist. He says the Rocksmith tee’s are bad quality. He is concerned about the competition of the companies, they could be trying to undercut him with cheaper shirts. This isn’t the first time Johnson has sued over something like this. He recently sued a company called, ‘Fvmous,’ for attempting to make a Aaliyah jacket out of his photo.
