UFC superstar Jon Jones just can’t seem to stay out of news when it comes to police interactions. Jones, who has already had numerous traffic related incidents involving police and is currently on probation after being convicted of a hit & run, was pulled over again last week and it got heated fast.

This all went down in New Mexico last week after police pulled Jones over for drag racing. From the start of the conversation you can tell it’s not going to be the friendliest of chats
Jones is clearly annoyed with the accusation while the officer claims to have him dead to right for speeding and drag racing. Jones eventually curses at the cop, calling him a “fucking liar” and following it up with “pig”. The cop also let Jones know he wasn’t a big fan of his at the moment either.
While this incident itself isn’t the worst thing, it’s just another black eye for the fighter away from the ring. He was issued 5 citations, the main was for drag racing. The other 4 citations were for “equipment issues” including a modified exhaust and an “issue” with his license plate.
For his credit however, Jones did apologize about what happened while making an appearance on the “MMA Hour”. He still denied that he was drag racing but admitted he shouldn’t have spoke to the cop like that.
“I was not drag racing nor was I speeding. I did not get a speeding ticket. I was driving within the speed limit of the 35mph zone.”
“I feel that police used a technicality to ticket me for drag racing, for simply revving my engine and acknowledging some of my local fans. I regrettably said words to the police officer out of frustration, for which I apologize for, but I do feel this was excessive.”
