60 dead and 300 injured after a suicide bomber blew up a park in Pakistan. Report say that majority of those killed and injured were woman and children. The bomb went off in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in Lahore. This is near a amusement area. Christian families were there celebrating Easter today. The remains of the bomber has been recovered. He is a man between the ages of 25 and 30.
Reporters say the explosion happened outside of a gate that was guarding children’s rides. There was security and police around at the time. They said,
“We are in a warlike situation and there is always a general threat, but no specific threat alert was received for this place.”
Videos showed people carrying wounded woman and children around along with people running and screaming. The Associated Press says that a spokesman for a Pakistani faction of the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said that there will be more to come. This attack reportedly target Christians.
