Carmelo Anthony decided to stay with the Knicks and take the free agent money before the start of last season and most folks assumed at some point he would regret it. The team didn’t look good and the future didn’t look much brighter but he decided to be “loyal” and stay. What has followed has been the worst season in franchise history last year and another crap display this season. Sure they drafted Porzingis to give some hope moving forward but Melo sounds like the losing is wearing thin on him after speaking with reporters following a discussion with Phil Jackson.

“It was just one conversation,” Anthony told Yahoo. “At this point, it’s more show me rather than tell me. That’s where I am at.”
He added: “The ball is not in my court at this point. It comes to what [the front office] wants to do in the offseason. It’s up to them to make those decisions.”
In the same interview, Anthony reiterated that he has no plans to waive his no-trade clause but added, “I don’t know, maybe my loyalty has come back to bite me in the ass. As of right now, I am sticking to it.”
There are already rumblings that Melo will change his stance on his no trade clause next season if the Knicks aren’t major players in free agency this summer and honestly he would be foolish not to explore that option. Nobody with his talent wants to wind his career down in such ugly fashion as the Knicks currently are.
