Last year, Nicki Minaj’s older brother, Jelani Maraj, was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl over the course of several months. Today, Bossip reports that the case has been sent to a grand jury, the first big step in it going to trial.
The Nassau County District Attorney is working with the Supreme Court’s sex crimes division to determine whether or not they should indict him. During the hearings that will take place, no judge and no press will be allowed, as it is only the jurors speaking to witnesses and reviewing evidence to decide whether they should indict him.

Maraj is facing up to 50 years in prison if convicted for his two charges of felony sexual conduct against a child in the first degree and first-degree rape.
