Kobe Bryant will have no more of people doubting what Phil Jackson can do in New York with the Knicks. Clearly the first two years under Phil’s guidance have not gone well but Kobe wants fans and media to have patience and did not hold back with how he views what’s been going on so far.

The Knicks are a terrible 45-105 since Phil took over as GM but Kobe won’t let him take alot of blame for that. Folks have always loved to point out that Jackson likely wouldn’t have won all those titles without players like Michael Jordan, Kobe and Shaq, a notion to which Kobe scoffs at.
“I think we don’t win any of those championships without him, I don’t think Chicago wins any of those championships without him,” Bryant said. “And, I heard the argument that’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard, that Phil won because he had great players. No s— Sherlock. What are you going to win with, a bunch of scrubs? It’s like the silliest argument in the world to me.”
Even though Kobe is the type of player who likely would never have had patience for the types of things the Knicks are dealing with, he is preaching patience but also throwing shots in defense of Jackson.
“People in New York just need to trust the fact that he knows more about basketball than any of them put together,” Bryant said after he and the Los Angeles Lakers lost to Jackson’s Knicks on Sunday night.
Bryant later added: “In my opinion, he’s the greatest coach in any profession. Ever.”
