With Peyton Manning now retired, the Denver Broncos looked to work out a deal with Brock Osweiler. He instead came to an agreement with the Houston Texans on a four-year, $72 million deal, leaving the Broncos without a quarterback.
Osweiler’s career stats are 2,126 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, 6 interceptions and a 5-2 record as a starter. As part of his contract, he will receive $37 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN’s Ed Werder.
The deal can’t be completed until the NFL league year begins at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday.
The Broncos are now on the hunt for a quarterback and have Robert Griffin III on their list according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
RG3 was released by the Washington Redskins and was their No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.
