Dwright Boone-Doty was charged yesterday with the murder of Tyshawn Lee. Not only did Doty murder the nine-year-old but also 19-year-old Brianna Jenkins. Both murders were in retaliation between gang members Bang Bang Gang/Terror Dome and Killa Ward. Authorities had wired an informant whom Doty came clean to. Doty had first set up an attack on Tyshawn’s grandmother right after Terror Dome affiliate Tracey Morgan was shot and killed. Morgan’s mother was wounded during the attack. So we can see these gang retaliations get really close to home.
Doty, his brother Corey, and another suspect were planning the revenge for Tracey’s murder. They were targeting “grandmas, mamas, kids and all.” Doty found Lee at a play ground and lured him into a alley by promising to buy him something from the store. The original plan was to torture Lee by cutting off his fingers and ears. Doty claims that he laughed shooting the young boy. This is beyond sick!
Karla Lee, Tyshawn Lee’s mother left the courtroom to cry at some point during the hearing. My heart goes out to her and her family.
Brianna Jenkins was shot Oct. 18, 2015. Doty shot her because she screamed after he saw her with another rival gang member. Jenkins mother says that Doty will have to deal with a higher power now. Doty is being held with no bail on two counts of murder,attempted first-degree murder, and aggravated battery. Boone-Doty’s mother made a statement saying,
“Did I raise my son to be this type of (person) that they’re portraying him to be? Hell, no..”
