In a Noisey interview back in December, Sir Elton John reveled that he’s a fan of Atlanta rapper Young Thug. He praised Thugga saying, “I love all of that, it’s unexpected.” It now appears that Elton John may be moving from fan to collaborator as the two have recently had a meeting via FaceTime.
According to FADER reports, Lyor Cohen, co-founder of Thugga’s 300 Entertainment organized the FaceTime meeting and Elton John followed up by sending over the instrumentals to his 1972 hit “Rocket Man.” Young Thug proceeded to freestyle over the instrumental. According to The FADER’s source reports, “It’s all the instrumental, the guitar, piano; and Thug is not rapping, he’s singing,” adding, “It’s really ambient and amazing.”
