Since President Obama’s administration began, he has crusaded for the underrepresented as promised in his campaign. He has worked his hardest to create equal opportunities for all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. The country is more divided, not because of his efforts, but because of the vicious and undying efforts of Congress to stop him. They have not only done everything possible to stop bills and laws from passing, but have publicly disrespected him more than any other president in the nation’s history without any hesitation or consequence. These acts done by Congress along with the rise of police brutality haven proven that racism in this country is still very prevalent and that we have longer than we thought to see REAL change. Countless examples of racism have been shown to “the people,” who have then taken it upon themselves to take a stance.
If in fact people were bamboozled by President Obama’s election into office, they were bamboozled into thinking the United States of America has ever really progressed, and that a Black president would be given a fair chance.
