MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough has a few things to say about good ol’ Donald Trump. Trump recently said he has no idea who or what the KKK is after David Duke told people to vote for Trump in order to protect the legacy of racism.
Scarborough feels like Trump denying knowing the KKK could disqualify him from being a presidential candidate. He says,
“It’s breathtaking. That is disqualifying right there. To say you don’t know about the Ku Klux Klan? You don’t know about David Duke? Is he really so stupid that he thinks Southerners aren’t offended by the Ku Klux Klan and David Duke? Is he really so ignorant of Southern voters that he thinks this is the way to their heart? To go neutral, to play Switzerland when you’re talking about the Klan?”
Trump released a statement saying he has no idea who David Duke is. He told CNN,
“Honestly, I don’t know David Duke. I don’t believe I’ve ever met him. I’m pretty sure I didn’t meet him. And I just don’t know anything about him.”
Then he told NBC’s “Today Show”
“I was sitting in a house in Florida, with a bad earpiece. I could hardly hear what he’s saying. I hear various groups. I don’t mind disavowing anyone. I disavowed Duke the day before at a major conference.”
Trump is getting slammed by many political parties over this. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) says that Trump is now “unelectable.”
