I personally missed this yesterday but Cari Champion is out of her mind. There were plenty of times during her tenure on “First Take” that she would make comments that would make you second guess her but this right here takes the cake. She now is an anchor on Sportscenter and yesterday she listed her current top five players in the league and she left Kevin Durant off her list. Now the fact she left him off is fine because it’s her own personal opinion but her reasoning for it is what has people calling her out, including Damian Lillard

Champion was hosting with David Lloyd, who also listed his top five and also left KD off his list. Lloyd blamed injuries, which is still a cop out but I guess easier to stomach. Champion then blurted out that KD has no heart and that’s why she left him off!
Say what??
First off there is no list among the top five players in the league that doesn’t include Durant. To try and insult him by saying he has no heart is out of line for Champion. There are plenty of times she comes off as suspect when it comes to her sports knowledge despite working for ESPN but I can’t think of any other time bigger than this.
Many people had something to say about her reasoning and nobody was more vocal than Damian Lillard who ripped into her on twitter. He then had to defend himself because he referred to her as “this woman” which he clarified by saying if it was a guy he would have said “this guy”. He was more upset with her message, not her gender and most basketball fans should be upset with her comments because it was crap!
