37-year-old Paul Gaston was shot and killed by police after he tried reaching for his airlift gun. Gaston had crashed his truck into a telephone pole. Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac says he had received a call from Gaston’s girlfriend, who said there was a “man out there waving a gun.”
When the officers arrived, they made Gaston put his hands where they can see them. They claim Gaston made a move toward his hip. In a video footage caught on camera, police are heard saying,
“Woah, woah, where we can see ’em! Don’t do it!”
They shot Gaston 9 times, killing him on the scene of the incident.
