With NBA All-Star weekend wrapped up it’s now back to business. The NBA trade deadline is February 18th and after all the murmuring the past couple weeks, serious talks have now begun. The first trade was just announced and it involves the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic.
According to numerous sources, the Pistons have traded Brandon Jennings and Ersan Ilyasova to the Magic in exchange for Tobias Harris.
The addition of Harris is great for the Pistons; he’s averaging 13.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists with the Magic this season. He’s 23 years old and in his fourth season.
As for the Magic, both Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings thrived under Scott Skiles in Milwaukee and the trade aids Orlando’s cap flexibility..
Sidenote: There’s rumblings that the Magic could do another trade, Jennings isn’t solidified to stay with the team yet.
