Just days after releasing his latest project, ‘The Life of Pablo‘ and the third installment of his clothing line, Yeezy Season 3, Kanye West performed on Saturday Night Live. Ye’ put on a moving performance of his song ‘Ultralight Beam‘ however, according to recent reports, we almost didn’t get that performance because Kanye had a “meltdown” backstage before the show.
Hit the jump for more.
According to Page Six, “Just moments leading into the live show, and during the live show, Kanye had a meltdown and threatened to walk off,” they added, “He freaked out about how the set was arranged. He was saying he’s ‘the greatest artist.’ He’s having regular meltdowns. Everyone’s walking on eggshells around him. He’s under a lot of stress between the new album and the fashion line.”
This comes as no surprise however, as he’s been going on massive Twitter rants two to three times a day! Fans and fellow artists are becoming increasingly worried about Kanye. Friends of his like Rhymefest and Deion Sanders have reached out saying he needs serious counseling.
Thankfully the situation was defused after several intense minutes and the show went on as planned. Page Six reports, “Kim, who was in the audience with Kylie Jenner, had to come down. Lorne had to personally talk to Kanye. There were a few really tense minutes.”
