Denise Katrina Matthews of Vanity 6, has passed away. The singer suffered from Kidney failure and also a abdominal illness.
Denise, who went by Vanity, was under the wing of pop singer Prince. Vanity was an 80’s artist who had the hit song “Nasty Girl.” The track is very popular and was even sampled by a few big names such as Action Bronson and Tech N9ne. Vanity left the group and pursued a solo career. She then became an actor and featured in movies such as Action Jackson and The Last Dragon. Vanity suffered from a crack cocaine addiction which lead to her kidney failure.
A lot of celebrities such as MC Hammer and DJ Premiere took to Twitter to give their condolences. May her soul rest in peace.
